intorno al porto, e cio\u00e8 pressappoco nel luogo dove \u00e8 ubicata l\u2019odierna Cirella.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c18cf9a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2c18cf9a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Tale borgo costiero (che dovette alquanto prosperare nel periodo dell\u2019Impero romano, se lo troviamo citato nell\u2019itinerario tirrenico della Tabula Peutingeriana ) cess\u00f2 di esistere nel IX secolo d.C. \u201cLa citt\u00e0 portuale \u2013 scrive Orazio Campagna \u2013 pur avendo superato le invasioni barbariche e retto alle guerre bizantino-longobarde, cess\u00f2 con le incursioni saracene dell\u2019850-851\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-size-default\">Dopo le incursioni saracene dell\u2019850-851, i cirellesi abbandonarono la costa e cominciarono la costruzione del nuovo centro sul ripido cucuzzolo, a 172 mt sul livello del mare, e cio\u00e8 sul luogo dove ancora oggi dimorano, imponen ti, i ruderi di Cirella vecchia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-102c019
